OFF-SEASON CONDITIONING
This semester is a great opportunity to get introduced to the new ideas in the Evolution Golf program. A fit athlete doesn't necessarily make a good golfer. Misinformation about golf swing biomechanics and function can lead to a higher fitness level, but with no impact on golf performance. We can make your current work out time more productive for golf and wellness, or if you are thinking of starting a fitness program, this will be a great first step. Six physical keys will be covered in the semester: 1. Posture, 2. Balance, 3. Mobility, 4. Stability, 5. Functionality (coordination), 6. Cardiovascular Endurance.
A physical assessment and goal-setting session will be our focus for the first meeting. Once the roadmap has been established, we will follow a personalized training program, designed to help you move better for life and for golf. A personal training journal will be included to track your progress and keep you honest! We will introduce some concepts of biomechanics that will get you thinking about your swing in a different way. This is the beginning of the paradigm shift.
Students will also have the opportunity to have their swing evaluated using 3D software, which is the newest and best technology available. The 3D analysis lets us be much more specific and accurate in prescribing which exercises and drills will help you.
There may also be room for groups involved in the full-year program to do an introduction to putting and the short game, as well as their physical conditioning.
